Not one of his zaniest films, “You’re Telling Me” is still packed with classic W.C. Fields humor. A master of physical comedy, Fields battles a tangle of drapery cords at home and on the golf course, unusual clubs, a sticky pie, flying then sticking papers and a caddy with squeaky shoes.
Fields’ character meets a princess who helps him battle an upper crust battle ax that looks down on people from his side of the tracks.
While not the best of Fields’ films, it’s still leaves you rooting for the tipsy trooper who always manages to come out on top. (64 min.)
